How commission works
- ✓Commission is one figure and includes card processing. Your club sees one number.
- ✓Supporters pay the fee by default. You can absorb it on any product, and you choose per product.
- ✓Zero commission on sponsorship, invoices, and venue hire taken offline or by invoice. That money is yours.
A worked example
A club with 400 through the gate
20 home league games, 250 of the 400 buying online at £12.00, 300 season tickets at £200.00, and £35,000 of hospitality, shop and Boost. That is £155,000 of online sales across 5,700 items.
| Club | Whole Club | |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription per year | £1,548 | £2,988 |
| Fees on those sales, paid by supporters | £6,360 | £4,810 |
| A £12.00 ticket costs the supporter | £12.66 | £12.54 |
| Native club app, White-glove migration, Gate kit | As add-ons | Included |
The club's own bill on Club is the subscription alone. Moving to Whole Club costs the club £1,440 more a year and saves its supporters £1,550 in fees, and adds every module. Figures assume monthly billing and buyer-paid fees; annual billing is two months cheaper.

Frequently asked questions
What does BackroomOS cost? ▾
A subscription from £49 a month, plus a commission on online sales that falls as the plan rises: 4% + 30p on Starter down to 2% + 30p on Whole Club, card processing included. Supporters pay the commission by default, so the club’s own bill is the subscription.
Do you take a cut of sponsorship? ▾
No. Sponsorship, invoices you raise, and venue hire paid offline or by invoice carry no commission. Commission applies only to money taken online through the box office, shop, events, hospitality bookings and Boost.
Who pays the commission? ▾
By default the supporter does, as a booking fee shown at checkout. You can absorb it instead on any product, and you choose per product, so a club can absorb it on season tickets and pass it on for matchday tickets.
Which module do I get on Starter? ▾
Any one of the seven. Most football clubs start with Box Office and most rugby clubs with Venue & Hospitality, but the choice is yours, and extra modules can be added at any time.
Do I have to buy scanners or cards? ▾
No. The gate scanner runs on any phone or tablet, and tickets and membership cards work on a screen. Printed cards and handheld scanners are optional one-offs for clubs that want them; Whole Club includes a gate kit and the first 300 cards.
What does white-glove migration involve? ▾
You send us your existing data, whatever form it is in, and we import it within 48 hours: companies, contacts, deals, assets and history all mapped across. Included on Whole Club annual; a one-off on the other plans.
Is there a free trial? ▾
No, because onboarding is managed rather than self-serve and a trial would not show you the product on your own data. Every plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee instead: if BackroomOS is not right for your club after a month of real use, we refund you in full.
Can I cancel anytime? ▾
Yes. No long-term contracts and no cancellation fees. Monthly subscribers keep access to the end of the billing period. Your data is exportable at any time and is kept for 30 days after cancellation.
